Hi,
Ramona:
I'm just
letting you know that a plumber from Can-Barr, Alex Thompson, visited me this
morning in response to the communication we have been having concerning my
"all-in-one tru the wall heating cooling
unit".
According to
Mr. Thompson, the red wire I observed at the back-left of the unit was just a
piece of scrap wire and redundant (garbage) . . . and that I was right in not
trying to inspect it myself . . . (would not
do).
Mr. Thompson
assured me that I appear to be doing all of the right things and have a
layperson's understanding of the unit and the contents of the manual. (If
you give Can-Barr feedback I'd say he is excellent at his job:
knowledgeable, patient, listens and responds appropriately to the
uneducated.)
At this time,
I have nothing that I can do but wait for the time when I can fire up my A/C and
test it out before my Pratt Homes Two-Year Extended Warranty expires?
Unless I get a brand new unit which I would very much like to have for
peace of mind?
I still don't
understand the configuration of the drain tube. One that is removable in
order to clean/flush out, and that has a more direct route to the drain
would have made sense to me. (Bayshore Property Management has sent
owners and renters a memo stating that a wire hanger is
appropriate to clear the tube . . .
don't think I'll try this!).
I signed the
Pratt Homes workorder that was created back in September, 2012, but
obviously have not tested the air conditioner any further so, unless I get
a new unit before then, will have to do so in March,
2013. Thank you.
